Disaster Response

Our Founder has over 14 years of experience

Hurricane Irma Disaster Response Operation, Florida, 2017

working as a Senior Emergency Manager for various government agencies and the American Red Cross; both in Emergency Operation Centers and in the field, boots on the ground. In her work, Ms. Allen has specialized in closing gaps in emergency mass care shelters for shelter residents who have lost most if not all of their personal possessions.

Working with children in each shelter who are struggling mentally, emotionally, and physically, to cope with the loss of their favorite and most cherished toys has prompted the inclusion of Disaster Response in our mission.

Logistics:

If a disaster occurs within 8-12 hours of driving distance from Dallas, Texas TFFP will load up what bears and backpacks we currently have and deliver them personally to Red Cross or other community shelters that have been opened in the affected areas.

If an event occurs outside of our travel area, we are happy to ship bears and backpacks to the local headquarters or community Point of Contact who will distribute accordingly. However! We must have enough funds via donations, programs, grants, and corporate sponsorship, in our cache, to afford all shipping costs.
